This course will supply urgent care providers with a better understanding of when and how to give facial blocks and infiltrations. This course, in conjunction with the Dental Emergencies course, will allow providers to use local anesthesia for immediate pain relief.
- Identify when local anesthesia is necessary in the ugent care setting.
- Compare and contrast the types of local anesthesia used for facial blocks.
- Identify the technique for administering a maxillary infiltration.
- Identify the landmarks for administering a mandible block (inferior alveolar nerve block).
- Apply the use of facial anesthesia to properly treat dental emergencies in the urgent care setting.
