<p>Infections arising from Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) have emerged as one of the most common reasons for patient encounters in the office, urgent care and emergency department setting. The presentation of acute MRSA skin infections are often variable and can be misdiagnosed. The unique aggressive pathogenicity of this organism coupled with antibiotic resistance can make treatment difficult and lead to bad outcomes. He has held medical positions in the USAF where he had multiple deployments with the 56th Air Transportable Hospital. He continues to work in rural emergency departments as well as holding a position as Acting Medical Director of the Tallahassee Memorial Wound Healing Center.
