Course Description:

This session brings urgent care centers up to date on the newest OSHA and HIPAA expectations. In 2012, OSHA changed its Hazard Communications Standard, and some of those requirements have not yet been fully implemented. In 2015, new Recordkeeping guidelines came into effect, and for 2016, penalties will rise significantly. The HIPAA Omnibus Rule brought together all the previous HIPAA regulations, along with Breach Notification. However, there have been changes since then, and the Office for Civil Rights is now starting round two of the mandated "routine inspections," emphasizing compliance with the Security Rule.
